The gravestone for Hugh McLean who died in January 1859 - looks like in his 28th year of his life. It also says son of Hugh and Margaret, which would be odd for a married man, to have his parents' names instead of a wife's on his gravestone.

Still, he could be the Hugh who married Frances Kendle in Port Hill.

At St. James’s Church, Port Hill, on Wednesday, June 10th, by the Rev. H.B. Swabey, Mr. Hugh McLean, to Frances, fourth daughter of the late Mr. John Kendle, of New Bideford.

"Family tradition says Hugh never married, but the Anglican church at Port Hill, PEI, has a record of a marriage between Hugh MacLean and Frances Rendles on 10 Jun 1857. This may be a different Hugh MacLean, however. Ref: Nina Ross material from PEI Archives."
